Parenting with Purpose ft. Vidy

Episode 13 ft. (@33with3under3)

Listener Note: This episode contains some swearing … best to pop the headphones in or listen when there are no little ears around.

Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, but it does come with lessons and sometimes those lessons are hard-won. In this episode, I sit down with my cousin Vidy, the powerhouse behind @33with3under3, who has built a beautiful platform to support mothers, carers, and parents through the rollercoaster ride of raising kids. With over 15 years of experience in early childhood education, Vidy has been such a guiding voice in my own journey as a mum.

Together, we talanoa about the raw and real sides of parenting:

  • The struggles that so many of us face but don’t always say out loud.

  • How breaking generational cycles is less about blame and more about building new pathways for our kids.

  • The small, powerful one-liners that can calm a storm, connect us to our children, and remind them they are heard.

  • Why striving to be a “perfect parent” is unrealistic and how embracing imperfection opens up more room for growth and love.

What I love about this talanoa is that it isn’t about pointing fingers or creating pressure. Instead, it’s about empowering parents to see that giving our children autonomy, choice, and a voice builds them up to be confident, capable decision-makers.

If you’ve ever sat awake at night wondering if you’re doing a good enough job, if you’ve questioned your parenting choices, or if you’ve carried the weight of guilt—we want you to know you are not alone. This episode is an honest, heart-led conversation about learning, unlearning, and showing up the best we can for our kids.
